As we discuss false teachings, we need to start with the most basic, "Sin is okay." That's really the original sin, since it began with a choice to listen to Satan's lie, "You can't take God at his word. You can do what He says is wrong, without suffering any serious consequences." That lie continues to drive a great deal of sinful attitudes and behavior and we need to call it out, since we care about those who can rightly be called "sinners" (we are sinners, too), and since we want to point to the solution to Sin, so sinners can be forgiven and can avoid those awful consequences that rightly fall on those who sin.
