Since I Have You Lord, Ep19

Listen Later

Greetings my sisters and brothers, our podcast today is about having the Lord in our lives. Our podcast song is, Since I Have You Lord, now the beginning of our song’s creation was so amazingly beautiful, but before I get into the how and where, I need to first let you know the facts on why my heart was always rejoicing. You see, on Wednesdays of each week, I was going to a Holy Spirit Breakfast for Spiritual food, and this food were the teachings on the power of inner prayer, and the many ways to hear God speaking to us. These powerful teachings were given by two Holy People of God, Father Bill McCathy and Sister Bernadette Sheldon, who were also my Spiritual Directors, bless their souls. Sister Bern was also my dear and special friend. She, along with Father Bill, where what I believe to be, God’s special saints on earth, doing as God was leading them. And I Praise God for these blessings!

On this one particular Wednesday, I headed home right after the Holy Spirit Breakfast, to prepare for the up coming weekend skying trip in Vermont that my little family and I would be enjoying. It was early Winter of 1979, and snow was starting to cover softly on the ground. That weekend we signed our children into the beginner’s class of skying. We watch their joyful faces as they were learning to sky. Then, we went onto the intermediate slopes. Sitting on those chairs on our way up to the top, I was filled with all the wonders my eyes and ears were experiencing. The children’s laughters, the birds singing, the trees so tall, the gentle wind against my face. These stayed with me as we reached the top. Then off the chairs and onto the snow, as we made our way to the beginning of this impressive looking slope we were about to embark upon, this Joy in me took over. I was skiing these slopes and singing to my God, my heart’s joys. I was alive in the Spirit and the Spirit was alive in me. A tune kept playing in my head, I could not stop from singing it, and I knew inside me, a song was being created. This kept repeating every time at every slope I skied. On the second time down the slope, I said to the Lord, “Oh Lord my God, do not let me forget this song, these words and this time with You!” And He did not let me forget. This song is about that day, my little family, my children’s joy, and it was about having my Lord with me!
