They love her in Bloomington. They love her in Europe. With luck and perseverance she might have become a huge star in America. But the path to megastardom was not one Krista Detor cared to take. An oddball southern California girl — overweight, pale, and ginger — she conquered her fears and doubts to become a prolific creator of Americana music, sharing the stage with the likes of Joan Armatrading, Suzanne Vega, Sam Phillips, Aaron Neville, Loudon Wainwright, and Jakob Dylan.
