Today, Patricia and Teresa talk about singular they.  They can be used as both a plural and singular pronoun. Singular they can be used when you 1) don't know the gender of a person, 2) are making generalizations, 3) want to hide who you are talking about, and 4) are talking about a nonbinary person.

Singular they has been documented in writing as far back as 1375 CE!!
