The Golden State Killer, also known as the East Area Rapist and the Original Night Stalker, was a serial killer and rapist who terrorized California in the 1970s and 1980s. The Golden State Killer was responsible for at least 13 murders, 50 rapes, and more than 100 burglaries throughout California.

Despite a massive investigation and several close calls, the killer remained elusive for decades. However, in 2018, law enforcement officials used DNA evidence to identify a suspect, Joseph James DeAngelo, a former police officer, as the Golden State Killer.

This case takes place in the Manchester area of England, and (spoiler alert), these two were sentanced to whole life sentances.
