The relationship between the church and LGBTQ2S+ community has long been messy. From the horrors of conversion therapy to the deep seated loneliness of hiding in plain sight, too many from the LGBTQ2S+ community have suffered trauma from those who represent Jesus. Churches often say that all are welcome. To come as you are. But do they really mean it?

Our guest today is Matt Wiebe, one of the best people I know! He gave his heart and soul to the church for 20+ years. Going to youth group, teaching Sunday school, faithfully attending every Sunday, and tithing regularly. He did this until he was outed as a young adult and his life changed forever. He shares his story of growing up in this culture, being rejected by the church, the challenges of adjusting with your family, finding new expressions of faith, and his hope for the future.
