When many of us think of trauma - especially in the context of having a traumatic childhood - we think of the big things. The big scary, life-altering wrongs that are done to children that they don’t deserve - like abuse in all its forms, severe neglect, drug addiction, foster care, etc.The problem with that is we erase & ignore - thereby invalidate - all the other forms of trauma.The definition of trauma is a deeply distressing or disturbing experience.
