When many of us think of trauma - especially in the context of having a traumatic childhood - we think of the big things. The big scary, life-altering wrongs that are done to children that they don’t deserve - like abuse in all its forms, severe neglect, drug addiction, foster care, etc.The problem with that is we erase & ignore - thereby invalidate - all the other forms of trauma.The definition of trauma is a deeply distressing or disturbing experience. What does the next level look like for you? What are you willing to let go in order to get there? For starters... you need to get comfortable with being UNcomfortable. The only way to get where you want to go is to go through the process.

Most of us know about love languages (at the very least), and many of us know what ours are. But have you ever thought about WHY they are your love languages? Are you ever connected those needs to what you didn't receive as a child?

It is often said that vulnerability is the only true, authentic state of being. So if that's the case, can you fully participate in love without it? Can you be in a loving, successful relationship (with anyone) without also being vulnerable?

What effect have microaggressions had on your life? Have you ever stopped to think about it? I've found a lot of my struggle to see myself as worthy & valid has roots in the microaggressions I've dealt with most of my life.And I know I'm not alone.So, today that's what we are talking about. Microaggressions and the damage they do. And why I encourage you to remove people like that from your life.

Growing up as one of the only Black girls in an entirely white environment was traumatic in ways I didn't learn until I moved away from it all. Do you struggle with knowing your true self? Did you feel safe to be yourself growing up? Did you spend most of your life feeling like an imposter? If so, I see you.

Fears aren't there for us to run from. They don't want to be ignored. Think of fear as your friend - maybe the one that is all about tough love. Fear lets you know where to go next & when you don't, she'll set a limit for you so you remember you have some unfinished business to deal with.
