Sir Alan Bates, the leading campaigner for victims of the Post Office Horizon scandal, has reached a settlement with the government for his personal claim, reported to be a seven-figure sum, potentially between £4 million and £5 million. 
This multi-million-pound deal, confirmed by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) on November 4, 2025, follows more than two decades of campaigning for justice. The exact figure has not been made public, but sources close to the deal have confirmed the seven-figure region.
