Join as we talk with Erika Armstrong who is the author of “A Chick in the Cockpit: My Life Up in the Air.” Erika gives us the inside scoop on being a female commercial pilot in a vocation that is over 90% male. She talks about the need for a pilot to know themselves, have intense focus, situational awareness and communicate with the airplane, the co-pilots, crew, and ground personnel. Erika talks about the necessity of dealing with issues, because as a pilot you have no choice but to do so. She also shares how she overcame domestic abuse and the importance for us as a society to be comfortable talking about it and acting upon it.
