April 25th 1915 The French conduct a diversionary attack at Kum Kale on the Asian side of the Dardanelle's In support of the main British attack at Cape Helles. Strong Turkish defences exact a heavy toll particularly on the Irish regiments at V Beach. Dogged determination sees the British establish a foothold but, just like ANZAC Cove. the high ground is beyond their reach.
