Back in the early days of SM, a bunch of the guys from The Understudies Crew used to send these little tapes back and forth filled with little collections of sixteen bar verses, recorded for batting practice, to keep a sharp tongue so to speak. The routine was sparked by Understudies contributor Husayn Jay, a notably proficient creator, releasing only a small fraction of his countless recordings. Sometimes they found their way onto the interwebs, many remained private, but it sparked the rest of the crew to follow suit. Here’s one of them.
