Elizabeth Banks gives a remarkable performance in the gripping thriller Skincare, which deftly combines character development with character analysis. In the end, though, it falls short of providing a satisfying conclusion. This movie, which stars Banks as the gifted aesthetician Hope Goldman, is Austin Peters' debut narrative feature. It follows Hope as she launches her own skincare line. When a competitor builds a shop right next to her, the tension increases because Hope believes someone is attempting to ruin her life and ruin her business. Her paranoia pushes her to conduct investigations across Hollywood as she finds herself engaged in a string of progressively dangerous circumstances, determined to safeguard her endeavour.
