I’ve skipped school
even when it wasn’t cool
got my grades all lowered
cause I broke the rules
I’ve skipped church
and that pew where
I would perch
dozing off and not alert
leaving my relationship
with God in a lurch
but he forgave me later
and my faith found it’s rebirth
I’ve skipped breakfast
lunch and dinner
Just trying to get thinner
loving off of Ramon noodles
when my hunger
pulled its trigger
But I never skipped
in happiness
like I did back as a child
When you told me
that you loved me
then you kissed me
and you smiled
I skipped around
........happy feet
looking silly as can be
Not even caring what
the folks around
In their minds
thought of me
You helped me skip
my loneliness
you brought me
endless happiness
My heart and soul
were both a mess
sometimes I skipped
just getting dressed
until your love it
came and blessed
all that I suffered…
