Net Zero will not solve the climate and biodiversity crises. It involves continuing to burn fossil fuels whilst offsetting the emissions against new carbon market credits. Bioenergy is a key part of the net zero plan and involves the clearcutting of forests. The wood is pelletised and shipped to European power stations to be burned. it is falsely defined as renewable. It actually emits more CO2 and other pollutants than coal per Kwh. Drax power station in UK receives £800 million in subsidies to burn wood from US forests, and is set to increase its consumption and position itself as a key player in the plans for net zero. There is a growing scientific consensus that this will make the crisis worse. If life is to have a future, it has to be stopped.
