In this episode, amidst the protests and riots across the United States, we discuss and run through the history of slavery and the reconstruction efforts for African Americans.

This is just the first part, and focuses primarily on the black codes and Jim Crow laws that were put in place to prolong the status quo in a post slavery United States.
