Slavery is a word that often is associated with the past. In the history books we can read about the the translatlantic slave trade and colonialism. Although the large ships from the 19th century are no longer transporting millions of people from one contintent to another, and laws and conventions have been signed - the de-humanizing and taking the right to “own” the Other has continued.
