Pain is like a message from the body to the mind. It isn’t that pain is something to be hoped for, in fact, it can and should be avoided if at all possible but when it is present, its signal should be honored. The first step to honoring the signal that pain is sending is to simply stop trying to push it away. For this brief time, practice mindfulness with whatever is arising in the present moment. Simply watch what is happening without reinforcing the same familiar story that you associate with what is arising. With relaxation comes healing, so meditate with Karissa tonight, and make space for your body to rest, drifting into a deep and restorative sleep.
