In this episode George and Nicola are joined by Dr Sophie Bostock, founder of TheSleepScientist.com. Sophie's aim is to help millions of people to improve their lives by unlocking the power of sleep. Sophie studied medicine at Nottingham University (where she met George), followed by a masters in Entrepreneurship. After several years in consulting, she completed a PhD at University College London, investigating why happiness protects against heart disease, and how to improve wellbeing at work.

Sophie's research pointed to sleep as an unsung hero of mental and physical resilience. She then worked with digital sleep improvement programme, Sleepio, where she collaborated with research teams at Oxford and internationally to demonstrate the impacts of better sleep on mental health. Sophie now works with high performing teams in business, the military and elite sport to apply sleep science to optimise performance.

In this episode we discuss why aren’t we prioritising sleep as we could and what is the impact on performance when sleep is sub optimal.
