Sleep comes late for me you see
but I don’t lie here counting sheep
I am counting all of your kisses
the most stimulating gifts you share
even sometimes when I’m not aware
your honeyed lips are always there
and most likely it is not too wise
thinking of your lips
while trying to close my eyes
and find some sleep
but you just keep
my heart and soul awake
while that long, hard break of day
awaits me just hours away
but if you were here with me
fulfilling all my dreams
your lips would be there
gracing me so tenderly
and I would not have to be
counting sheep or Kisses
you’d be answering all I’m missing
you could kiss me off to sleep
and my sleep would be so deep
knowing that when I wake
your kiss would still be
there for me to take
on every lovely dawn that breaks
I would herd all those
sheep that I refused
to some lonely guy
who needs their views
because I’d be lying next to you
sharing kisses till my face turned blue
and my sleep would not be any later
then the end of our sweet afterglows
cause we both know where such kisses go
and sleep will quickly follow
but now the left side of my bed is hollow
as I think of all the kissing
you and I each night are missing
at two a.m. I’m reminiscing
as I’m turning, tossing flipping

as I swallow endless yawns
and cop a few zzz’s before dawn
