Our sleep phases all vary, some of us jump out of bed with boundless energy early in the morning whilst others are able to party long into the night. What used to be referred to as morning larks and night owls is now described as sleep phase, the extremes of which are labelled sleep phase disorder. Judicious use of melatonin and light exposure can help manage these problems.
