Cute friends-to-lovers romantic comedy!

Sleepless in Manhattan, was a cute friends-to-lovers, rom-com. It was light-hearted and low on the angst scale.

Paige Walker spent her youth in and out of hospitals and under the watchful and protective eye of her family. As an adult, she was determined to prove she was capable of taking care of herself. She'd had one love, and that was her brother's best friend, Jake Romano.

Jake Romano was a highly successful businessman. An all-around nice guy, he was charming, protective and funny. He caused women to swoon and hearts to flutter. But his past taught him love wasn't forever.

I had a small issue with the length of the book. To me, there was too much internal dialogue and struggle, that at times, it felt like filler.

BUT

There were many things I loved about this book (aside from the story and main characters); the chapter headings, Eva and Frankie and the banter between Jake and Paige.

âHoney, my ego is bulletproof. you couldn't take it down with a rocket launcher.â

I enjoyed this author's voice. I am disappointed that I have not heard of Sarah Morgan before now. But this will definitely not be the last book I read from her.

Fun and entertaining

Paige Walker and her 2 best friends, Frankie and Eva, are out of a job. It's a tough market to hack into NYC and they all want to stay there. Enter Jake Romano, the best friend of Paige's older brother, Matt, and also the source of Paige's heartbreak so many years ago when he rejected her. Jake has the capital and connections to help Paige start over and as much as it pains her to ask for help, she does so because she doesn't want to let her friends down. Although Jake and Paige have a tense dynamic, they were close friends a long time ago and don't mince words with one another, which Paige appreciates because she's so used to her family always protecting her. The story was cute, funny and had just the right amount of sexual tension and character development. I also loved the friendship between Paige, Frankie and Eva, they are the perfect balance for each other. As for Jake, I enjoyed watching his transformation and realizing that falling in love didn't spell doomsday for him.
