For this week’s edition of “Slegs Afrikaans”, Marli spoke to director Brett Michael Innes about the upcoming new Afrikaans (let’s say “naughty”) R-rated film called “Khaki Fever”, written and directed by him, as well as co-written and co-produced by his husband Nick Ahlers. Actors starring in the film  include the likes of Chris Jaftha, Francois Jacobs, and Trix Vivier. The premise of the film: “Set on a private safari lodge, the story revolves around a cheeky challenge among game rangers: whoever beds the most tourists during the season wins the coveted “King of Khaki” title plus the losers’ collective tips. The catch? The steely lodge manager, Anel, has declared that anyone caught fraternising with guests will be immediately fired.” The team chats about whether the “khaki fever” trend - super short khaki shorts (“kortbroek”), veldskoene and ranger hats are sexy or silly, and according to Thabo you can only wear a khaki outfit with a super short “kortbroek” if you have the legs for it (which he apparently does…), so then Thabo goes on to vow, in the presence of the whole 5Nation, that he’s brave enough to wear a very short khaki “kortbroek” on Heritage Tour to show of his legs… Let’s just say, we’ll definitely be keeping you to your promise Thabo!
