The latest postponement in the transfer of Sligo’s search and rescue base to Bristow has been considered as the right move.
This is now the second delay of the year, with the new date set in the middle of December.
It follows Bristow securing a tendering competition in 2023 to control operation of the services at a contract of around €800 million.
Local Fine Gael Cllr Fergal Nealon is frustrated by the delay, but says it’s ultimate the correct decision:
