We Don't Know Her

Slow Your Role

Listen Later

Katie and Christie are getting to know whose role they are taking when they are looking at themselves. Have you ever left your own house after cleaning it just so you could walk in and see it through another's eyes? Have you ever scrolled through your own social media pretending you are a stranger seeing it for the first time? This is called "role-taking," and it is a process in which we assume the role of another person to view our own situation, thoughts, or actions. It may sound confusing, but turns out, it is a practice we all do so often, we don't even realize we're doing it. In this episode, Katie and Christie will expose the (mostly embarrassing) inner workings of their minds by sharing a few prime examples of their own role-taking. They also discuss how this method of thinking can teach us important lessons about communication, setting expectations, self-esteem, self-awareness, and authenticity. You do not want to miss this one!
