Hold onto your glasses—this might be a record-breaker! In this segment of Small Craft Advisory, the guys tackle a heavyweight contender from Texas: Saloon Door Brewing’s Fluffy Nuts.
At a massive 9.6% ABV, this Peanut Butter and Marshmallow Imperial Cream Ale promised a lot on paper, and boy, did it deliver. In fact, this may be our highest-rated beer in segment history. With the "lowest" score sitting at a 3.8 and multiple 4.5 out of 5 ratings hitting the table, it’s safe to say the crew was impressed.
The Flavor Profile: Everyone agreed the palate was loaded with ample amounts of creamy peanut butter and just enough marshmallow fluff to round it out.
The Danger Zone: The most shocking part? It was so well-balanced that it didn't taste or feel like a 9.6% beer. It’s dangerously smooth—so smooth that having more than one or two might leave you on the floor.
The Commitment: While most of the guys cautioned against the high ABV, Patrick was ready to go all in. He enjoyed the brew so much he claimed he’d "willingly sign up" for the floor if it meant drinking more Fluffy Nuts.
Is this the ultimate dessert beer, or is it a trap for your Friday night? Check out the full breakdown to see why the scores skyrocketed for this one.
