This Mother’s Day sermon from Chandler Street Church of Christ explores how God’s kingdom often comes through small and hidden beginnings. In Matthew 13:31–33, Jesus compares the kingdom to a mustard seed and leaven. In John 6, a boy brings five loaves and two fish, something that looks too small for the need, but Jesus uses it to feed thousands.
Sometimes we think our small acts of faithfulness do not matter: showing up, praying, serving, sending a text, making a phone call, encouraging someone, or taking one step outside what is familiar. But small does not mean insignificant. Hidden does not mean inactive. Slow does not mean God is absent.
This message also reflects on Mother’s Day, Praise in the Plaza, and what it means for the church to become a people who bring what we have to Jesus and trust Him with the increase.
