Abdulmajid Karanouh, head of advanced interdisciplinary design and innovation at Drees & Sommer, joined Construction Week Viewpoint to discuss innovations shaping the future of urban development in the Middle East.

Karanouh, who joined the German outfit in 2018, spoke about smart city schemes, the allure of Saudi’s $500bn gigaproject Neom, artificial intelligence, and how you can build more sustainable and efficient buildings with innovative materials

“I was part of a brainstorming workshop that happened between two and three years ago to address [Saudi Arabia's] 2030 vision and Neom specifically. I personally am very interested in that project – and so is Drees & Sommer.”
