Specific
Make sure your goals are specific enough to provide clarity on what next steps need to be taken.  Issues arise then the goal is unspecified, so specific that its overwhelming, and creating too many goals.  Make sure to set between 3 to 5 specific goals so that you don’t dilute your focus.
Measurable
Making sure that you can measure the process in achieving your goals are important.  It helps if define what you are measuring, and set a schedule for when to measure them.  If you don’t know how to measure your goals, you might as well not make them.
Achievable
Is the goal that you set out to reach, within your grasp?  Never set a goal that someone else is in control of.  Make sure that the goals you set are reasonable, so that you can achieve them.  Now your goals are under your control.
Relevant
Are the goals your selling in alignment with your morals, values, and desired outcomes?  Sometimes peoples goals are in conflict with their current jobs or contradict other goals that they have set.
Time Bound
When will you have completed your goals?  What about each step along the way?  Most people will over estimate how efficient they are with their time.  Add an additional 30% onto your expectation of how much time you’ll need to reach your goals.
Now go out and set 3 goals that will improve your life.  Do it now.
