HOLLYWOOD, California — On stage, The Amazing Johnathan was known for his manic energy and larger than life presence. In person, the 60-year-old comic magician is soft-spoken, subdued and even more frail than he appears in The Amazing Johnathan Documentary, which premieres in theaters and on Hulu this Friday. We’re sitting in an empty theater at The Magic Castle, an old haunt for Johnathan during his glory days and the site of his big farewell performances in 2014.
