This month is “No Theme November” at Catching Up On Cinema!
Every week this month we're going to be having special guest hosts that will be selecting the movies we'll be reviewing, for whatever reason they see fit.
This week, Trevor is joined by friend and frequent collaborator, Brad from the Cinema Speak podcast, to review Brian De Palma's, Snake Eyes (1998)!
Starring Nicolas Cage, the film is a slick and incredibly stylish conspiracy thriller that boasts most of, if not all of the director's trademark cinematographic flourishes.
Not especially successful in it's day, both critically and financial, the film is a ripe candidate for reevaluation, as while the film certainly has it's weaknesses, it's audio-visual flair and tense setpieces more than offset those liabilities.
