Snitching is a globally controversial topic. The mob called them rats. Hip-hop despises them and in prison there are few people hated more.  However, it seems like it’s part of the culture. Icons like Gherbo and Casanova 2Xs are currently under indictment because of alleged cooperating witnesses. Even more drastically, unsealed court documents revealed that another icon Nipsey Hussle was murdered after confronting his killer about being a rat.
