So, today’s question is this: What do you think sin is? Before you answer too quickly, it may be worth considering what we spoke of last time.
Last time we spoke, we discussed how God’s thoughts differ from ours (Isaiah 55:8, 9). And how his idea of love is different from ours. Did we not? What if this also applies to sin?
Well, in light of this, today’s question becomes more interesting, don’t you think?
Tell you what, let’s begin with what we think sin is. So, what do you think sin is?
You might be thinking, “It’s about breaking one of the ten commandments or doing one of the things on those lists in the New Testament, such as in Romans 1:22-32;1 Corinthians 6:9, 10, right?” You know. Things like murder, lying, stealing, slander, cheating, or those types of things.”
And that’s a very good start. But what else might there be? Stumped? Let me give you a hint. It has something to do with the two greatest commandments (Matthew 22:37-40; Mark 12:30, 33; Luke 10:27).
