Hear the story behind the movement to change Columbus Day. We’re lucky to have Dr. Heather Shotton with us to discuss the native students’ experience in higher education, the reclaiming of native research methodologies, and the movement to reimagine Columbus Day as Indigenous Peoples Day. October 9th, a day that was formerly Columbus Day is now Indigenous Peoples Day in 47 cities, 3 states and 3 universities. Learn how people around the country honor this new day and stand in solidarity with indigenous peoples by advocating against current injustices and recognizing the gravity of America's genocide. Special Guest: Dr. Heather Shotton.
