For any teacher with a sense of adventure, the international recruitment window probably brings prickles to the skin.

Around this time of year independent schools overseas start to access their staffing needs and will crank up their recruitment efforts. With many offering good salaries, lucrative incentives and opportunities to develop your teaching and gain unparalleled life experience, it’s hard not to be sucked in.

On this Career Clinic edition of the Tes podcast, senior digital editor Simon Lock spoke to two teachers who have made the decision to relocate their lives and careers overseas.

Karly Evans left South Wales and is now a science teacher at Harrow International School in Bangkok, while Dann Gronland relocated from London to an international school in Rome.

In this podcast they discuss their motivations for moving, the recruitment process and what life was like as a newby in their chosen school.
