"Sobre a angústia" translates from Portuguese as "about the anguish." It evokes our concerns about our dreams; the people that we care about the most; the things that are beyond our control but deeply affects us; and all the fear and anxiety that we feel when we dread to lose everything that is important to us. The piece has a sonata form with three themes in the exposition, which is an arch form. The main theme is a quotation from Brahm’s Fourth Symphony. The development is structured in a rondo form.
