Surf Report for San Diego California

Socal Surf Alert: High Rip Current Risk and Dynamic Waves Forecast for Orange County and San Diego Coastline

Listen Later

Surf's up, wave riders! Let's break down what Mother Nature's cooking up along the Southern California coastline.

Heads up Orange County and San Diego surfers - we're looking at some seriously spicy ocean conditions over the next couple days. Today's serving up a moderate rip current risk with waves dancing between 2 to 4 feet. Water temps are sitting pretty in the mid to upper 60s - wetsuit optional but recommended.

Wave direction is getting interesting with a mixed swell party. We've got south swells rolling in around 180 to 210 degrees and west swells cruising at 270 to 280 degrees. Translation: expect some dynamic and potentially unpredictable wave patterns.

Tide schedule is looking like a maritime roller coaster. Newport Beach and La Jolla will see four tide shifts today - starting with an early morning low around zero feet, climbing to a mid-morning high near 3.5 feet, dipping again in the afternoon, then peaking with an evening high pushing 6 feet.

Wednesday's forecast is turning up the intensity. Orange County surfers - brace yourselves for a high rip current risk with surf heights climbing to 3 to 5 feet. San Diego will maintain a moderate risk with similar 2 to 4 foot waves.

Bottom line: stay alert, know your limits, and respect the ocean. Check local conditions before paddling out, watch for changing wave patterns, and maybe bring a buddy. Stay stoked and stay safe out there!
