Social Anxiety: "With Everything Opening Up I'm Getting Loads of Invites and It's Making Me Panic"
COVID restrictions are lifting across Ireland this weekend.
While this is great news for many, it's a cause for anxiety for some.
Dr Illona Duffy offers her expert advice weekly on The Saturday Social.
This week, we had this email in from a listener:
Hi there,
Some people might hate what I'm about to say but.....am I the only one not delighted about restrictions easing? I have always struggled with social anxiety, and I have to say was relieved when lockdown came in. I get very anxious before meeting people for social occasions - even friends or family and tend to drink and talk a lot to cope. I find the interactions exhausting and now am starting to get lots of invitations for things and am panicking! Can you please help? Thanks, Kate
Dr Illona gave her professional advice for Kate.
