Social democratic parties are losing support across Europe. We are joined by Tarik Abou-Chadi (University of Zurich) to help us make sense of this development. We briefly discuss the recent European election results, particularly in Tarik's home country of Germany, before moving on to a broader conversation on the electoral fortunes of social democratic parties. Tarik also explains why in the long run a shift to more nationalist policy positions will not save social democracy.
