Ephesians 6:5–9 | Rather than prohibiting the practice of slavery in the New Testament, God seeks to eliminate the causes of slavery by transforming the human heart with the gospel, thereby ending the practice as well. This mirrors the way God saves and sanctifies us from our slavery to sin: by transforming our hearts through grace, not merely prohibiting our actions through law.
