Dave aspired to be in the public education world and toward that end, completed his formal training in education. One road led to another, and he found himself in the insurance industry in Washington, DC. Dave sold insurance, annuities, and health care plans and while there, saw the difference that those policies could make in people’s lives. Following that, Dave made a tangential move to a company that dealt with financial planning software. It was great fun, and he traveled all around the country. Then, ten years ago, he came back into the financial services world, joining Mass Mutual, and the journey has been fascinating. Social Security represents 40%-50% of retirement income. It’s easy to ignore, but it is a huge asset and people need to understand and appreciate the value of it for themselves, but also for their families.
