Social Sidenotes Episode 11: Let's Talk about Morning Routines

Listen Later

Did you know that 85% of people reach for their cellphones within 15 minutes of waking up? Are you one of those people?

I wanna talk about morning routines.

I know it's so easy to grab your phone and to start scrolling. You wanna see how much money you made overnight, who texted you, how many hearts you got on Instagram, and what the latest tea is in the world.

I get it. A lot can happen in all those hours you've been asleep.

But can I offer you a new way of waking up?

See, you have 2x during the day that your awake brain is most susceptible to autosuggestion. The first 30 minutes of waking up is one of them (the other is right before you fall asleep).

I call this the moments of magic and miracles! Any subconscious programming you do affect your brain during this time more than any other!

During the day, when you're hustling and bustling your brain is in Beta (swipe to see).

Coming out of sleep you are in this slowed down alpha brain wave state. Anything you tell yourself in these moments sticks! So, you see why I don't suggest reaching for the phone right away.

If upon waking up you reach for your phone, scroll through social to see latest COVID news, election stats, racism updates... Your subconscious just adopted those and the hormones that go with it: stress, anxiety, fear, etc.

And all those hormones flood your autonomic nervous system and you create a life that matches.

Perception is reality. So if you're feeding your mind with perception of junk... Well, what kind of reality will you experience?

Might I suggest NOT shocking your system with those things?

Check the latest #podcast episide... I'm going to be breaking down my morning routine and talking about WHY this is one of the major indicators of success for #entrepreneurs
