Anu loves socks and uses her imagination to find many uses for them. Anu's mother asks if she can use some of Anu's old socks to make a mop. Do you think Anu will be able to part with her cherished socks?

Here are some ways to engage students using this story: 
1.Have students share a time when they had to share or give away something special.  
2.Describe different everyday objects made from old things and let students guess what they are.  
3.Ask students to create their own sock puppet using an old sock and craft materials.
