Bucky McMillan and Samford swept the regular season and conference tournament titles last season. Most of the Bulldogs roster moved on after a heartbreaking close NCAA Tournament loss to Kansas. McMillan takes some gambles on high major down transfers and also mid major shooters. What kind of expectations does Samford have this season?

Furman took a step back last season and almost every impact player transferred out or graduated. Can Bob Richey lead the Paladins back into title contention in this league? Chattanooga has a terrific guard duo returning for another season. Can Dan Earl's offensive system win a conference title. Brooks Savage has a nice balance of retention and transfers that all have experience.

Does East Tennessee State have the correct recipe to compete for a banner this season? Wofford returns maybe the best player in the conference, Corey Tripp. The Terriers return by far the most experience out of any SOCON team from last year, can they parlay it into an NCAA Tournament bid?
