High sodium intake from a variety of foods makes children vulnerable to heart disease later in life, according to a new report. Sodium reduction is considered a key public health strategy to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases nationwide. This study, the latest in ongoing CDC efforts to monitor U.S. sodium intake, points to 10 types of foods that make up almost 50% of kids' sodium intake. (10.1016/j.jand.2016.09.010)
