I'm always experimenting with opening set energy. I've seen/heard Sofia DJ before and she can be quite eclectic with her selections, (garage, techno, latin rhythms, poppy tech house, heartfelt ballads) so instead of playing a set that was linear and predictable, I wanted to get the dancefloor to open their minds a little and work on their nimbleness. Contorting between genres and playing a set of tracks almost entirely new to me, I tried not to venture too far in any one direction while hoping to unlock many doors for Sofia to blast through shortly thereafter.
