On this episode of #SoLA, Camille and Charlie try to explain their personal life philosophy, inspired by Warren Zevon: Enjoy Every Sandwich. Unfortunately, Camille forgot the reason she chose this topic was as a tribute to Jonathan Gold (the late, great Los Angeles food writer), so the episode is something of a mess. Even more of a mess than usual, in fact! Regardless, you’ll still find lots of discussions about sandwiches, Apple Maps vs. Google Maps and the true aim of MAGA. There’s also a fair amount of nonsensical film discussion. McCabe and Mrs. Miller is the Eyes Wide Shut of Robert Altman: “no one’s got a poster of it on their wall, but it’s their best”. Munich is Spielberg’s McCabe and Mrs. Miller. After Hours is Scorsese’s Munich. And so on and so on.
