October 31, 2017 marks the 500th anniversary of the start of the Protestant Reformation. It was 500 years ago that a Roman Catholic monk named Martin Luther nailed what he called his 95 Theses to the church door at Wittenberg, Germany. That sparked a generation of men willing to risk their lives to say only what the Bible said and led to the formation of the Protestant (protesting Roman Catholic abuses and bad theology) church.
