Have we been conditioned to only feel love and support (as adults) from our parents when we need a bail out? have hit rock bottom? feel pushed up against a wall and are suffering? And is it because as adults we need them to prove their love to us in this way - in times of abandonment?
I'm sharing some thoughts as I was journaling out my standards I currently have and desire around money, and how this relates to my parents in this quick solo episode.
As I asked myself the question: What are my standards around money? Something interesting came up for me as I wrote out that I desire to treat money with respect, allow it to be here for me, come back, and stick around. And in that moment a thought popped into my head: Do I feel the need to feel abandoned by money, men and people because that's what I saw happen to my parents growing up?
I'd love to know if this episode resonates with you, and your thoughts overall. Let's continue the conversation on Instagram: @kate.killoran
