Inspired by the African-American history in golf, the Solomon Hughes, Sr. Golf Academy was founded. An Alabama native but Twin Cities resident, Solomon Hughes, Sr. was a trailblazing human being, during the Ted Rhodes era, who paved the way for playing opportunities that people of color enjoy today.
The academy, Minneapolis-based, is continuing his legacy by embracing children of color, from underrepresented communities, in the Twin Cities and changing their arc of life.
