Solomon Islands Showdown

Manasseh Sogavare has abandoned his bid to remain Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, after his party won just 15 of 50 seats in Parliamentary elections.

It's increasingly likely the next government will be formed by a coalition of opposition parties, who have spent the past few days locked in negotiations.
